Mary Jerejian : President

Mary Jerejian


Mary is currently in her last year at CSUN, and is majoring in Sociology in hopes to become a Social Worker one day. Her goal is to work with children who have undergone abuse. Her current job is teaching Statistics as a Supplemental Instructor. She graduated from Valley Alternative Magnet School in 2016, and began taking college courses as a sophomore in high school. This achievement will lead her to obtain a Bachelor’s degree at 21 years old. Mary was also student-body president of her high school, and this is where she grew a passion for leadership. This will be her second year on the board. She was an Armenian folk dancer for 8 years, and had the opportunity to travel to Armenia to perform at the Yerevan Opera Theatre. One of Mary’s proudest achievements was being an assistant in gathering research on the Armenian Genocide for the books written by Dr. Vahram Shemmassian. As President, she hopes to take CSUN ASA to new heights, and make all the members feel just as passionate about the organization.

Lia Kechichian : Vice President

Lia Kechichian

Vice President

Lia-Patil Kechichian is a senior majoring in Criminology and Justice Studies at the California State University of Northridge with the aspirations of becoming a police officer. Born and raised in Larnaca, Cyprus, she moved to Northridge, California at nine years old with her family, when she attended and later graduated from Holy Martyrs Ferrahian High School. After graduating from Pierce College where she began her professional work at the college level as a mathematics tutor in the Center for Academic Success, she later transferred to CSUN where she served on CSUN’s Armenian Students Association board as the Cultural Director for a year. She has been involved in various Armenian organizations, including Hamazkayin Nayiri Dance Group and AYF Artsakh Chapter. Lia currently serves as Executive Director for the ANCA Crescenta Valley Chapter. As Vice-President of CSUN’s ASA, she aims to bring fellow Armenians together and spread knowledge about the Armenian culture and roots of Armenian traditions.
Rafi Boyadjian : Treasurer

Rafi Boyadjian is an aspiring Junior Finance Student at California State University, Northridge. Rafi currently serves as Treasurer of the Armenian Student Association as well as Vice President of Finance of the Lebanese Student Association and Director of Finance of the Student Finance Association. He has also participated in the AGBU New York Summer Internship Program in 2018, meeting various Armenian students and professionals from all parts of the world. He enjoys making a positive impact on his community and continues to seek opportunities to give back. His goal is to create a network of Armenian businesses and professionals within the community to help students have access to the resources that they need.

Agavni Bagramyan is a Junior majoring in Biology in hopes to enter the medical field in her later educational years. She has volunteered at Valley Presbyterian Hospital for over 3.5 years and is currently applying to multiple internships for pre-med students. Although she is focused on all things medical, she also has a passion for the arts. One of her many hobbies is photography. Within the years, Agavni has been able to take courses to further more enhance her knowledge for bettering her skills. From the numerous posts she has made to get her work out into the world through social media, she has gained great experience and successfully fulfilled the CSUN ASA position as Social Media Director on the executive board. She strives to show what CSUN ASA is all about as well as share all the memories on social media. With this role, Agavni wants to encourage the community around her to join an amazing organization and experience it all, first hand.

Alex Baghdassarian : Cinematography Director

Alex Baghdassarian is a senior at CSUN majoring in Cinema and Television Arts with a focus in Multimedia production. Alex is the Cinematography director for the Armenian Student Association as well as President and founder of the Multimedia Club. He grew up in Granada Hills California and has always liked online video, music, and film. He has worked on several short films and commercials. He also enjoys creating content that provokes thought or makes people happy.
Marine Boynagiryan : Events Coordinator

Marine is a senior and currently has an Associate degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences. In Spring of 2019, she will be graduating with a Bachelors degree in Sociology. Marine also aspires to get a Masters in Health Administration in hopes of becoming a hospital department manager. She currently works in one of USC’s medical offices. Outside of school and work, Marine’s other passion is the environment and volunteering at numerous events that educate people in helping the environment. This is Marine’s first year on the board and she is looking forward to organizing memorable events that will bring CSUN ASA’s members together.
